One big leap could make Doris’ day
CHARLESTON, Ill. — When the triple jump moved into Eastern Illinois’ fieldhouse Friday because of rain at the boys Class AA state track preliminaries at O’Brien Stadium, everything was magnified. Each time Bolingbrook senior Troy Doris flew down the runway and landed in the pit, the crowd loudly clapped, oohed and ahhed.

Just as quickly as the Timothy Christian girls soccer team rallied from a two-goal deficit in the Class A state quarterfinals Friday afternoon, the Trojans saw their state title dreams vanish at North Central College in Naperville.
